Hello Archie...Where did you spring from? Like the composition and the form you've achieved, Julia, and I think the expression in his eyes is simply superb. Well done.

I love your dog portraits and I'm in love with Archie! I am trying tp pluck up courage to do a watercolour of my dog, Charlie (Bearded Collie) When I do, I hope it turns out as good as yours! I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thank you all so much. This was the first time I had used this particular paper which is quite rough. It was ok when using the pastel pencils but I had difficulty with the larger pastels. All good fun though!

You could making a very respectable living out of your dog portraits - they are that good. Archie is wonderful - the composition is perfect - love the fact that he goes off the page. The eyes says it all and the coat is beautifully done. Another triumph for you!

Thank you Carole and Lesley - I so enjoyed painting Archie. Thank you Thea and Roger for your kind comments - the only trouble is, it is one thing painting a picture that you just take a liking to but it is quite another having to take on a commission and satisfy the owner. I imagine that could be quite stressful!
