Belfast on the Night I Kissed My Father Goodbye
I had to paint this. Please don’t worry- I’m absolutely fine, I’m doing what I think artists are supposed to do, reflect their experiences and the things around them in the best way they know how. My Dad took us away from a violent and hectic Belfast as children and drew us to a happier and safer place at the end of his life. The evening he passed I felt, for the first time the life, light, colour, humour and optimism of his beloved city. In the blink of an eye Belfast became home again.
