It’s looking really super Malcom, lovely harmony of colours
Finishing line is coming in to view now with this painting. Foreground and some of the structure on the left to finish, then the easy bit (not!!!) of the steam. I am really happy with the way this one is coming along.

And rightly so. It is rather good.
Thanks Colin.

It’s absolutely brilliant and so beautifully painted, it’s so good to see a craftsman at work.
Great painting, it really is beautifully detailed!

Hi Gillian, Many thanks again for your kind comments.
Excellent work Malcolm, I look forward to seeing this one in the gallery
Brilliant painting Malcolm the detail and perspective are excellent 👌
I shall refrain from comment until it's finished.  After all, it could still go wrong.... Snort. Of course it couldn't.  It's going to be fantastic.
Firstly thanks to all of you who have been kind enough to leave comments on the progress of this painting. They are all very much appreciated. The painting is into the final furlong now. All the foreground and background is now finished. I have done the steam around the front buffer beam and from the pressure relief valve / whistle and all happy with that. Just the main steam column to do. Now I am going to do what I have done before and have a 'play' on another piece of paper and see if I can come up with something that looks right (steam is a right b to get right in watercolour!!!) before I do it for real and muck it up. Fingers crossed.
