This is going to be so good Malcolm, I like your jigsaw approach.Hi Frank, thanks for your comment. I have had a problem since I can't remember when, with what I call 'white paper' syndrome. During most paintings I do, I often reach a point where I don't like it and it's down to the larger amount of white paper left, when compared to the amount with paint on it. Normally once the proportions change and there is less white than paint then I am okay. I have got better I must admit in more recent years, with not reaching that point so often, but with these larger pictures I find that dotting around (or jigsaw as you call it) works as it makes it appear that there is more paint and less white paper and I enjoy it more, from start to finish.

White paper syndrome - think we could be twins Malcolm :) I work in exactly the same way. Looking forward to seeing Hilda progress!Hi Anthony. Often wondered if anyone else 'suffered' with the same problem. Sorry to hear that you do. I find its good to show the picture I am not happy with to someone else (In my case my wife) and ask what they think. When you get back "it looks fine" then off I go again quite happy.

It’s a slightly odd method isn’t it! I work randomly up to a certain point, concentrating on areas of flat-ish colour as they’re a quick win, then join the dots with the detail. Hilda is looking superb as usual, looking forward to seeing this one develop!White paper syndrome - think we could be twins Malcolm :) I work in exactly the same way.
