Some of his artwork is very well traveled (big clue ).
Re Dixie's latest.  My thought was it was one of those artists who produced posters for British Rail, brilliant stuff.  But as they were pretty much all landscapes it's not my area.
IYour spot on there Lew , he did do some of the paintings for British Rail some of his paintings were the ones you used to see in railway carriage's above the headrest’s.  His work is very diverse I believe you would like some of his pencil sketch they are full of detail .

Been checking into this thread every day but no time to participate but I see there are some originals too so here’s a bit of one of my favourite artist’s paintings, probably quite easy!
Paul - Is it Terence Cuneo?
I spent ages yesterday looking though railway posters but didn’t spot anything obvious, will look again - unless of course in the meantime you confirm Alan’s suggestion.
Yes Gillian.  Gustav Klimpt.  Think it's Adele Bloch-Bayer.  Another brilliant artist.
Paul, is it Claude Buckle?  His work looks very similar.
Nothing on mine yet.  Clues...He was a skilled portrait painter, often in watercolour.  He lived on a farm with his wife.  She designed furniture for their home, and their lifestyle became envied and copied.  The artist produced many pen and watercolours of their homelife...these are what his popularity is based on.
Sorry Alan it not  Terence Cuneo, nor is it Claude Buckle Jenny.

Spot on Lewis!
Just looked at the two artists Alan and Jenny mentioned, both superb artist. I like the train and car ones by Cuneo, but out of the two I prefer the paintings  by Buckle,
