That’s a lovely painting, Marjorie, I hadn’t heard of Andrew Wyeth. This is by a self-taught artist who was treated as an outsider by the art world.  I’ve always loved his work.

Is this Rousseau? Henri Rousseau? I’ve seen the tiger painting but not this one.

Ouch this is making my brain hurt! Well done Frank for yours , I’d never have got that, and Marjorie I recognise the painting and have heard of Wyeth but doubt I’d have put the two together! Now Jenny this looks vaguely familiar but…is it a French artist?

Changed my mind, it is Henri Rousseau… is it Exotic Landscape?
Yes, it is Henri Rousseau - thought it wouldn’t be hard to guess if you know his work, it’s so distinctive.  This is from one of his most well known paintings, The Dream.

Well I was heading in the right direction! Well done all. Who’s next!?
I’ll have a go at another later hopefully! This has to be the best challenge yet! Even surpassing juxtaposition… remember that one!
Here we go then. This is a crop, I can show the full image but it’s an obvious title!

Is it Fu Manchu?
I didn’t recognise yours Jenny, the painting or the artist. Well done to all who guessed it correctly. Not sure about yours Alan, I’ll have a think, is it from a painting or a drawing?
Alan, is this the artist’s sketch or your interpretation? What I mean is - is this like the artist’s finished work?

It’s my pen and wash interpretation taken from the artists pen and wash portrait of an equally famous French artist -  Perhaps it’s my lousy drawing if it looks oriental.
