There seems to be interest in resurrecting sketch a day. So I am starting it up again. So come on let’s get started! Even if you can’t manage everyday you are invited for a chat!

Yes, I missed drawings. Those are great horse head statues Gillian. Are they drawn from reality or your mind? My sketch is purely fantasy, but contains a horse a least :)
A great idea Gillian ...good to see you, I do like your horses quite different for you, interesting images Ricardo...here is my effort.  This is an oldie of mine called "Duck"

It’s The Kelpies in Lanark.  I am out sketching this afternoon at St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall.. I run an art group and I am keen to get everyone sketching out and about! They are a shy lot so need a push to have a go!

Good to see this back.  Quick sketches often have more life in them. A while back somebody was saying you could blend a charcoal drawing with a clean wet brush...never tried that, although I've put washes on ordinary pencil drawings.  Gave it a quick go.  Didn't want to try it on an elaborate drawing until I was sure it worked for me... ...top is just charcoal, bottom is me trying to blend with a brush.  In next to no time, with my clumsy hands, I managed to smudge it fairly effectively in all the wrong places.  So...not a drawing method for me. This is a simple line drawing I made for a pic, I added flat colours in photoshop ( a bit like painting by numbers).  On the main pic, I decided to put him somewhere different than I'd intended so I only needed to draw him from the waste up...not that it took long to draw the whole thing.
A little tonal sketch I did plein air recently from my car, using charcoal and a charcoal pencil. Around A4 size.
Yes, certainly appeals to me. And good for everyone for the sketch a day. Will have a go again.
Lovely to see this back and some wonderful sketches posted already. Love the ducks Sylvia.
So good to see sketch a day back on the forum , might make me more motivated to sketch each day as I’ve become lazy of late. A sketch for a painting in starting and a pen sketch, will look to doing some more.
A quick sketch of our guest before he moved. Charcoal with white pastel highlight on grey Strathmore.
