That's a beauty Helen. Thanks Rikard, I don't class it as a painting as such, as the exercise was just about mixing some colours on my palette to see how they worked. I am doing plenty of sketching but can't post because I was asked to do a portrait in happier times, in time for a funeral. I've spent the last week sketching the face and shoulders so I can get it spot on. I have done the drawing today and I am doing a charcoal portrait. I intend spending 3 or 4 days on it but won't be able to post anything for obvious reasons. I never have confidence in myself when I'm painting or drawing but what I do have, is belief in myself to do a good job. I'm very pleased with the drawing I've produced today after a week of sketching.
Well done everyone! Just been doing a charcoal portrait sketch
That must have taken quite a time Gillian. Is it anyone we know?

10min charcoal sketch on Strathmore grey paper, white pastel highlights. Checking the cricket score.
Supposed to be a self portrait but needs a bit more tweaking!
