Beautifully drawn Tessa.  Ruskin does sound like heavy going!   This isn't a sketch - it's a WIP of Rankin from the PAOTW show today.  I did do a charcoal sketch but it is awful!  I found Rankin very difficult - I was also reminded why I usually don't do acrylic portraits!

Nice sketch Tessa, I like your portrait Margaret I could not do it in any kind of paint. I have been working on a watercolour today but unfortunately I’m having a problem with my hands again today. It’s a bit uncomfortable to sketch one , so I amusing this one I did a long time ago cannot remember if I have posted it before, if I have very sorry.
Thanks Dixie.  Sorry to hear you are having problems with your hands again - lots of character expressed in that pencil portrait.

I don’t remember that one Dixie but he’s a great character sketch. Sorry about your hands. Does the weather affect them? Margaret that’s an excellent portrait. I watched about the first half hour then the end. He has a difficult face I would think but you’ve certainly got his expression and his hair is very good. Thought I might have a go during the week. I wasn’t sure what I thought of Samira’s portrait at that point but of course it’s not finished yet.
I found another funny little stile on my walk the other day, did a very quick plein air sketch to get the basics of it, and have added some Tombow pen colour this morning, but need more colours! Another possible future painting.
I really like those very quick plein air sketches of yours Tessa!  another gem :) More tulips

Wow, gorgeous tulips again Margaret! We still have little colour in our garden and no bedding plants around yet.  This is a cone that I picked up on my walk yesterday. I’ve tried drawing cones before and felt this went better than previously!
Love that style Tessa and the cone is excellent not easy to sketch, beautiful  bunch of flowers Margaret. Sorry is was MIA yesterday thought I’d give my hands the day off, hope to get some work done today.
Beautifully drawn cone, Tessa - I agree that they are not at all easy to draw.   Hope your hands are better today Dixie.
My hands are a lot better today thank you Margaret, and yes the weather has a bit of an effect but sometimes like this week they just flare up. Have not done much today , so I thought I would do a simple pen and watercolour sketch of two cranes strutting their stuff in the snow. Used brush pen to start with but the black seems to have a slight red tint to it? so added a bit of Payne’s grey .Noticed it’s a bit shaky in places .
Looks pretty good to me Dixie. Glad you’re back in action. This is a very striking image with the red on their heads.
These cranes are fab Dixie!  Very stylish.  Glad your hands a bit better. Been trying to find time to finish off my painting of Rankin from the Sky Arts Painter of the Week programme in between making bread ( breadmaker finally packed up a couple of weeks ago), biscuits and joining in a Zoom chat so only managed an extremely pen sketch of the recycling bin men.  Added some acrylic colour later.  A5
