I’ve been a bit lazy lately, not doing much but did this pine cone this morning. Our weekly challenge for art group is patterns in nature, so thought I might try a couple of pine cones but one was quite tricky! Love the train Dixie, not sure about your photo, a bit scary! The piggy collection is lovely too.
Nice sketch of a pine cone Tessa, Paul I like your train painting. here is my offer for today, a head study of my dog nipper.
That’s a lovely sketch of Nipper, Alan, you should put it on the gallery. Super train Paul, lots of character. I like the cone Tessa, they are really difficult. I did one once, I’ll see if I can dig it out. Mine is a discovery that you can add water to soft pastel. This is a little sketch I did the other day from a fleeting image on the TV and this morning I attempted to lift the daffs with soft pastel and water as they had faded into the curtains.
So do realise that the daffodils are the size of my head compared to the glasses🤣
Lovely dog Alan, and Katy I see what you mean about the specs! But beautiful daffs anyway. Some more cones today working up to a painting.
Nice sketches folks . A quick watercolour sketch of old father Thames used Payne’s grey and a bit of purple . Done very quick and quite wet
Help I need a hairdresser .
Some fun sketches on here today I sent mine to the guy who cuts my hair.I’m sure he will charge me twice as much when I  eventually see his scissors again.  Alan your Nipper is a beauty, I did something similar with my JR some time ago.
Fortunately I don’t have the hair problem these days, an old over the head with clippers once or twice a week sorted . A quick sketch about 15 mins ,  used a hb pencil for the outline and a 6b for shading used a Cotten bud to blend in something I’ve not done before with pencil .
Paul, I find blending pencil very satisfying as it makes for smooth shading.  some great sketching, with a vast range of subjects. I have been sketching various elements, subjects for a few paintings I would like to try . Here is a horses head which belongs to a plough team I am trying to do.
You’ve certainly got the feel of bulk of the plough horse Alan, should make a good painting. On the dog theme, this is ours yesterday evening hoping for some left overs! She’s a spaniel so I didn’t get that right, but obviously moved as soon as I started. 😫
Nice little sketch of your dog Tessa. I have now painted the plough horse, and thought I would share.
