Great sketching ladies, a verse array of subjects, Still not really over my doldrums, but I am keeping positive. Here a some sketches I have been doing while waiting for her in doors on hospital visits.
Westering Home. Inspired by Bill McCue.
I think it is an optical illusion Denise.  But for tall buildings it is wise to consider 3 point perspective.  I’m surprised that you found zoo animals in the hospital, Alan.  My sister drew the other patients during here stay in hospital last year - they looked like the undead!  Lovely nautical scene - Ahoy there!

Linda, thanks for your tip. I didn't know anything about 3 point perspective. I've just had a quick read. I will spend the weekend reading about this. With not doing any art before I started, I haven't come across any of these things and learn as I'm going on. I'm sure this will help a great deal.
Some very good sketch have been posted so far . A simple pencil sketch .
Lovely sketch Paul. Here is a sketch of what I'll be painting this afternoon. Or trying to paint anyway.
Nice sketch Denise and the painting turn out really good. I have done a quick soft pastel sketch of two Black Cranes doing what is call the winter dance  . I’m still not used to using pastel of any kind but I do like doing these simple sketch with them .
Great pastel sketch Paul.
Lovely pastel sketch Paul, must say I like using the soft pastel pencils for sketches. Keen to  try bigger prices with soft pastel sticks once I move into my house !
It is funny how we are drawn to the same kind of thing.  I painted a couple of cranes, which I will post I the gallery forthwith.  I don’t like the painting as it is a bit kitch in my treatment.  Feel free to voice your opinions though. Pastels are great for sketching and so much quicker than painting.  In my portrait class, I expect to be able to finish a small colour sketch in 20 minutes.  But I always finish it off with pastel pencil - working from the general to the specific.
I know I'm no good at faces but it doesn't stop me trying now and again. Believe it or not, it was a photograph of me as a child but developed into something very different and looks something like an old fashioned cobbler. I'm laughing looking at it and how much I have transformed myself. I must have another go tomorrow and try to concentrate a bit more.
