Nice sketches. All the best with your acrylic portrait, Gillian.
Sorry I'm late in responding Paul but do turn that 'Mickey Mouse' tank loco into a painting, it's really good. That's not insulting your work, they were known as that by the crews for some reason.  Peter
Thanks Bill, it’s all a matter of practice and more practice I try do sketch every day even if it only a very quick doodle . I very rarely watch tv so I either read or sketch also it helps with my hand problems and keeps the old grey matter ticking over , well I think so.

Yes, you've hit the nail on the head with me. I was the same when I played the euphonium and when I studied for exams - or rather crammed at the last minute. Practice is the key.
great sketching everyone. to many to mention. here is my latest sketch that I will try to paint. Promise  will try not to disappear again.
Monarch of the Glen, love paintings of Stags!
Lovely sketch Alan. I did a sketch last night.im going to start using my new studio today. My desk hasn't arrived yet but I've got a fold up table I can put up for now.
This is an excellent portrait sketch Denise! Very professional. What materials did you use? The stag sketch is excellent too Alan. I've seen the original in the National Gallery in Edinburgh and it's stunning.

Thank you Bill and Gillian for the likes of the stag. Bill unfortunately I have only seen it on the lid of the shortbread tin, I had for Christmas. this was my version of it completed.

You have a real talent for portraits. It's impressive work. I'm working with charcoal myself at the moment and starting to appreciate its potential.
