Hi all. I thought I would join you again in trying to sketch daily or at least regularly.
I’ve popped in and out looking recently but not got round to joining in, so here we go- New Year resolutions and all that!
Here’s a sketch I did today of the walrus that has been stranded on the harbour at Scarborough. I was so impressed that the council cancelled their New Year fireworks display so as not to disturb or upset him. How wonderful is that!
The light on the photo is poor but I will retake tomorrow but wanted to get this up and running on the 1st.

It's nice sketch for sure Tessa!
Great start off for New Year too ;)
Fireworks got cancelled?!
Wow!
At last somebody out there do care for animals!
I did this sketch today - just realised I uploaded it to December's , lol ;)
It's beginning of my latest claybord experiment ;)

A lovely delicate image, Pog.
Nice work, Tessa.
Great news to see this on the TV. I wonder how many people before this 'act of kindness' have complained about their terrified pets, and nothing has been done.
Only to be told to follow advice that can be found on the internet. It will be interesting to see what comes after this cancellation...

HNY everybody . I too spotted the news item about the Walrus and thought it was an amazingly kind thing to do to cancel the fireworks. The RSPCA officer seemed really excited to have dealt with this visitor. Nice sketches Tess, Alan and Pog.
I've been lazy over Christmas an NY so this is a quick sketch (from a photo of Aberaeron) I did using my newly gifted rigger brushes and a dip pen with Indian ink and watercolour. Following Alan Bickley's recommendation, I think the rigger will become my new favourite drawing implement.
