Gillian, those are beautiful pictures of a lovely, characterful home. Have you painted any scenes around there? I think I'd prefer the climate of Orkney to a mediterranean one, but it's nice that you have somewhere you can go for almost guaranteed sunshine. Did all the stone keep it cool?If you look at my gallery on here you will see various pen and wash, acrylic paintings of Spain are in the area known as the Altiplano de Granada which is where the house is. The cave stays a constant 18 degrees all year round. So warm in winter cool in summer when it’s 48 degrees!

I have some Derwent coloursoft pencils that I have never really used. I've never fancied coloured pencils but this evening I thought I would give them a try. I found a free image of some magnolia and sketched it. I added the bird for a bit of added interest. So, I'm about to start using the colour now.

Tell me, Gillian my dear - simper - are you married? Hmm...? Have you thought of throwing in your lot with an impecunious painter? Now .... HAVE you?
One is available, Gillian; you have only to call; all you'd need is a sympathy for cigar smoke, and a leaning towards a certain degree of neediness - plus the merest hint of financial greed: do not think that I yearn for the luxuries of your apartments! Oh, Heavens, no! (That's TWO propeties you have, is it? Just so ..... passing rapidly on, then....)
Gillian - can you not tell, my dear? - Just tip me the wink, and I shall be yours; and more to the point, yours will be mine, but let us dwell on that later....
