You are on a roll the Bill !the blues work! Sylvia you can’t go wrong with those autumnal colours!
A couple of sketch’s from my rough book , it get full of all sorts of ideas some only a few scruffy lines , The first one was drawn as my granddaughter was “ singing whose  pigs are these” a song her mother drove me mad with one summer many years ago. The other is a idea for a possible painting, I like to sketch out ideas for future painting as I will totally forget it if I don’t.
Great sketches Paul . I bet the girls love the pig and piglets! The boat will be an interesting subject for a watercolour hope it comes to fruition! Not exactly a sketch but I did this pen drawing yesterday
Thanks Gillian that a lovely sketch you have done.
This is fine work from you both, with good drawing skills on display. The boat would make a great watercolour or pastel and the pen drawing could be fleshed out with some colours too. Were these done en plein air?
Mine certainly wasn’t as I am unable to work outside at the moment and unfortunately the boat no longer exists.
I'd like to do more painting outside, but this is Scotland and it's usually too cold and windy. In fact before I drew Criffel on the Solway cast (famous for its light), the nearest I'd gotten to it was sitting at the back door drawing a fig tree next to the house.
I do take a small sketch book out with me but don’t always use it , particularly when people are around as the get nervous I think and wonder what your up too. I did do more when I was volunteering as a Ranger for the National Trust and spent hours in the woodlands.
Unfortunately not en plein air Bill. From a photo taken in Spain near my little cave house where I lived until recently. Was there ten years but returned to Orkney for health reasons. Still have the house though . I occasionally sketch out and about but living in Orkney presents some windy wet and cold challenges for working outside!!

Yes, that can be a problem when you're out sketching. The NT job sounds like the perfect opportunity for a sketching spree!

You lived in a cave house? How interesting! Do you have any photos you could post?
Oh Paul....just step backwards onto one of their toes if they are being a pain...otherwise I find people don't really notice you if you tuck up in a corner ,. I once had a pile of little black kids pushing and shoving to look see...Africa somewhere.  Just gave them paper and crayons and tell them to get on with it.
