As you know I'm not an abstract artist, It really makes you think. If my paper was big enough I would have gone on to do the whole of the Westminster borough but I don't think watercolour paper comes in rolls. I did really enjoy it. It was a pretty tough task though. Getting your thought's and abstracting them onto paper.
Well done Denise you certainly rose to that challenge. Like the buffalo Paul they are really quite magnificent beasts aren’t they. Will have to have a go at using pastels for one on my return to uk! Today a line and wash done plein air ….. 40 degrees C to be precise, never applied washes so quickly.
Paul's Buffalo reminded me of a Wildebeest I sat and drew in Namibia .sitting a few yards away on the steps of our jeep.  This guy is 8b pencil in an A3 sketchbook.  .

Nice Gnu - wildebeest , and a great way to sketch them Sylvia. A very quick pen and wash old ballet shoes not sure the colours would be appreciated by the Royal Ballet , used up left over paint.
Great wildebeest Sylvia and wonderful to see them in their natural habitat. Lovely pen and wash of the ballet shoes Paul. Bit of an intricate line and wash tonight the 42 degree heat must have haddled my brain today

Lovely pen and wash . A very quick wet paper  watercolour sketch on 24cm x32 cm watercolour paper using orange , indigo and purple done on just over seven minutes. I will do a similar painting when I run the workshop in July to show how a few colours can make a painting letting the paint do the work.
Beautiful colours there Paul, quite Turneresque! Trying out some eyes using charcoal pencils
Second for the evening, this is the product of no tv for seven weeks!
Clearly nothing better to do this evening! I have quite enjoyed myself
Good for you a nice way to spend the evening.
I haven't posted to this thread before now.  I'm not sure if there as are rules re subject matter. I bought a Derwent Graphitint Paint Pan Set today (sale price). Pure impulse buy. I've never really been interested in watercolour.  I don't have a light touch. It's way out my comfort zone. Anyway had a look at you tube and based this on a still life demonstrated by Julia Woning.  I didn't trace it; I drew it freehand so I'm quite pleased for a first attempt. It needs more shading and some overlapping for a better composition.  (The you tube demo was a better composition).  Hopefully things will get better.
That is a lovely first attempt Janis and you have enjoyed doing it which is what art is about.  Why don't you set up your own still life and have @ go at that...more enjoy.
