There was a fiesta in the village yesterday! The Spanish love good party so forget a BBQ it’s a village sized paella for them every time! Thought I would try and capture the size in a sketch. Hot work for the men ( always cooked by men when gigantic proportions)
With Sarah, Phil, Ellen, Rose the dentist, and the granddaughter whose name I forget.

Hmm, about 13% here today! Lovely plein air sketch Gillian. Mine is a sketch of my friends old horse Harry playing with his treat ball, he takes his football VERY seriously 🤣🐴

Harry looks a handsome boy Katie. I struggled with yesterday’s sketch especially shadow sun was directly overhead so no shadows. So not the best time to try it!! Found some charcoal pencils in a cupboard so thought I would do a sketch from a photo I took yesterday. The pencils are not great quality ( Lidl probably) bought to try out long before I invested in the good stuff!

Cheap charcoal or not it still a good sketch Gillian . I do remember you drawing horses before Katy if I re bear you had a new horse or maybe l imagined it nice sketch of Harry.

Definitely not a horse l have owned Paul! Too big for a start!! I have ridden one a few times when younger and they are beautiful! just like Harry, to draw and paint! Yes I did a horses head, not a whole horse like Katy, as I never get everything in proportion !

Not sure what you mean by cheap charcoal Gillian ? Charcoal is charcoal. .   Try using the residue from a wood fire... you can get great effects with free charcoal.  .
