There has been some excellent work gone in over the weekend, love your doggie pictures Sylvia, beautifully painted swan Alan, hydrangeas and beautiful orchid from Marjorie and Tessa, a lovely pencil case from Chris and another piece of nostalgic art with Dixie's paraffin can, keep them coming!!

Lovely sketch Margaret. The thing I’ve found interesting about the daily sketching , is that we all seem to do mostly everyday things, flowers, ornaments, etc. It’s great that e drone is posting sketches etc that they probably would not post, or even think about sketching. The everyday things, events and scenes around us are often dismiss as to mundane or not worth recording , how our eyes have been opened, and views possibly changed, keep at it please, it’s quite good fun.

Marjorie - the pigment in wc pencils does seem to vary. I never used my old ones much, always a bit disappointed (and the colour selection was not that great for me). I did this amaryllis with the Caran D'Ache Museum Aquarelle wc pencils so you could see the strength of pigment. However, currently only have 6 colours, no greens or blues, so just did the rest in black fountain pen (more wc pencils ordered!)
Beautifully drawn pencil box, Christopher, and nicely done paraffin can, Dixie. Dixie, are you doing these all from memory or do you have a stock of old cans somewhere?
Thank you Dixie :) Yes, we certainly are doing a wide variety! I have found that "needing" to do a daily sketch to post, in a busy day, often means I just sketch what is nearby, whatever it is. We are all definitely bringing out the beauty of the mundane and the overlooked! Lovely to see the old cans and vehicles that you do, etc, that I am not very familiar with.
Meant to post the text along with the sketch - but uploaded the sketch on the phone and couldn't face trying to type a long bit of text on the tiny keyboard.

Must try those coloured pencils Margaret, they do seem good, I have W.H Smith watercolour pencils, and while they are ok for small art work, some of the colours are a bit hard to use. Like your Amaryllis. My sketch today is of The Howitzer-on-Helm- Crag, Grasmere. Fancy doing this in oils at some point.

Some great sketches over the week end, great to see the variety. Linda I like your sketch, yes that would look good in oils. I personally have not tried oils yet.
Marjorie your flower with just the red highlighted really stands out
My sketch today is of the centre panel on the hand rails of the iron bridge in telford. What a fascinating place to visit. It had just been painted in iron oxide, after years of being silver. The bridge is joined together in woodworking joints as it was so new in its day they new no other way of building it.

Some more great and different sketches! Dixie, who would think that a pink paraffin can could be attractive, but you’ve made it so.
Margaret, love the way you’ve just used colour on the flower of your amaryllis!
Linda, your rocky outcrop will make a fab oil. Alan your gate panel is wonderful. I remember visiting there years ago with the kids, a really enjoyable day out. Good memories.
Sylvia, lovely solid chunky shells. I also can’t visit a beach without bringing a few back.
Marjorie, another lovely drawing, and Alan, that’s an eye catcher!
I started this by drawing a tree at the bottom of my garden, then it developed into something/somewhere else! Pencil, pen and cp.
