Thanks Alan, nicely done. A grate gate, lovely shells and really good sketch of garlic and press, what talented people you all are.
Nice work again everyone .I challenge myself today as I am not good at portraits so I did a self portrait I hope I have got my likeness.
Beautifully drawn tree, Tessa - I like the limited colour; pretty good likeness, Christopher - definitely better than most of my attempts at self portraits!
Great additions today, they seem to get more interesting! Amazing that nothing is replicated. Without commentating individually, I will say that I'm sure that we are all showing improvement - if that's possible of course! Personally, I am finding it much easier to size up something before starting. Does anyone else feel this?
Well I personally feel that I have improved especially it makes me look at things more  closely and I have more confident in my mark making and laying down a line and it forces me to look for different subjects which makes me more versatile, they say practice makes perfect.
It's all about looking, isn't it, Christopher?
I totally agree.
Hi all, hope you are all on the boil and ready to produce your masterpiece, something very different from me today. The sketch attached was done digitally on a pastel app, I don’t normally do digital nor pastel but thought I’d give it a go. I’m quite pleased with it, and the app is good fun to use. Handy for the days your on the train, in a waiting room etc.
So many great sketches gone on again, lovely gate from Alan, beautiful shells Sylvia, garlic from Marjorie, brilliant sketch! great tree from Tessa, nice little jokey esso blue sketch from Alan, Chris, your self portrait is spot on and your digital mushrooms Paul are fab!! i'm posting my little wren, not finished yet, watercolour pencil and uni pen in black and white ink.
Paul, is it the i pastels app? And do you have a stylus? It's worked out very well - I don't use the apps much now but a good tip for you - if you are undecided about part of a painting, import it ( from photos ) into your app and then work on changes etc. It can help you decide what to do next. Linda, that is beautiful, I think you could leave it there but I'm interested to see what you'll do.
Hi Marjorie, yes i'm not doing anything else to the Wren, just have to pen the tree and branches in, not using any colour other than black uni pen,
That a beautifully painted wren Linda. Yes Marjorie it is ipastel, I’m using the free version at the moment, my son in law very kindly bought me an electric stylus, it absolutely brilliant. In feel quite enthusiastic about getting out a nice set of Conti pastel that was bought for me some time ago and I have hardly used. Thanks for the tip as well.
