Excellent self portrait Christopher and I like your mushrooms Dixie, pastels without mess, sounds like a winner to me, might have a look at that!
And a beautiful little wren Linda, not sure I would do anything more to it, but no doubt you will use your magic to prove me wrong!
Just watched the news and thinking of people being flooded which is just awful. I did this sketch from a free news photo of the firemen rescuing people in their dinghies.

Dixie, your pastel app mushroom has turned out really well :) One advantage an app will have over pastel is you won't get covered in pastel dust! (I usually get covered in it - hands, face, etc!)
Linda, that wee wren is gorgeous :)
Excellent topical sketch, Tessa - sorry I missed it earlier (was showing on a different page).

Where do I start, I suppose Christopher is a place, fantastic self portrait, how your confidence is growing, from not wanting to do them to a self portraits well done,
As been said before sketching, painting is so much more fun in a group, we seem to grow by showing looking at others and how they make their marks, and listening to how its been achieved . we all seam to be growing.
Great Mushrooms Dixie, I will avoid the pun of FUNGI, as my last one got a few groans. I will loo the app up.
Beautiful Wren Linda so delicately painted, and lovely tones.
Tessa very topical and well observed and drawn, stands out very well.
My offering today, comes from a late summer walk around Cley next to sea. Took loads of photos of the Mill to paint, and drew a little sketch over coffee . But his green grocers shop caught my eye.

Tessa, as usual, very topical and thought provoking. Alan, I think this is your best sketch yet, lovely! My sketch took about 2 hours! It's something I've wanted to do for ages, my youngest grandson watching the telly ( while I lay collapsed in a chair! ) BUT I know I never would have got this done without all this sketching practice, I wouldn't have had the patience.

I think everyone have surpassed themselves today , they are all so good, not fair to single out but I do think Marjorie has done such a beautiful sketch of her grandson. The love and feeling that has gone into it is amazing, your daily sketching has certainly paid off.
I do agree that Alan’s shop is his best to date. Hell how do you follow that then?.

Alan, I agree with Marjorie, I think that is your best yet - super sketch. and Marjorie, I love that pencil portrait of your grandson - beautiful. The daily practice is definitely paying off for everyone. I think I'm letting the side down a bit today - a quick fountain pen sketch of the grater while waiting for everything to cook.

There is no such thing as letting the side down Margaret. We all have busy days and without being patronising I do think, females in general are on the go a lot, as in general they cook, clean and run a household in addition to the hundred of other tasks. I am aware that more males do there share these day. Fitting time in is not always possible. So there’s your slap on the wrist, just keep them coming no matter what it is.

Thanks Dixie - I think it is lack of organisation rather than actual lack of time! Though this has been quite a busy day. I think without this group I would have probably stopped daily sketches a week or so ago as there is a lot on this month - so I am really appreciating the company and support :)
