Agree with you there, Tony.
The idiotic buyers are the real villains. If they weren't there, such "artists" wouldn't even exist. The real irony is that the original artists like Vincent Van Gogh and many others died in poverty and it's the same buyers and agents raking fortunes in today from their works. Might as well cough up my other dislike whilst I'm here: Digital Art has its place and a perfect right to exist, and good luck to it, but not in what is primarily a brush, charcoal and pencil world..Amen.  P.S.I'm thinking of staging an exhibition of my own work, but please don't attend unless you  can afford a minimum six million pounds (not dollars). Us artists need to live you know...(-:

Hello not sure I am in the right part? I am looking for some advice on getting my paintings printed. Not sure what is best way to do this? Not sure if I have to get my images scanned or take photos and send to the a company? Someone recommend scanning just not sure. If anyone has some spare time to get back  to me when you can would be lovely 🤗
Well I can help you here Faye. Basically, it depends on where you’re having them printed, ie, your local printers or high street print shop, or are you using an online printing company of which there are a great many. Wherever you choose, they will tell you what format they require, but generally the smaller printers as well as the online ones will require a hi-resolution image In jpeg format, so obviously this will be from your camera. For small print runs, and a popular choice is to have them printed as a digital print known as a giclee. Other members on here will be able to suggest decent print companies that they’re used, certainly Sylvia will be able to! The most important thing is to get a hi-res image off your camera, the quality of your finished print will depend on this image.
That's interesting thank you so much for your feedback Alan. Ahh okay so I do need to get a camera. I forgot to mention if anyone knows about vanishing painted after been printed? Thank you Alan. Much appreciated 🙏
Alternatively good printers may have high res. cameras and lighting arrays, producing good quality images.  It costs nothing to ask.
Okay great I have sent an email too a couple thanks Linda 😊
Linda is on the ball again, if you’re using a local printer take your painting to them, they will either scan or photograph it. There’s a charge of course… but it’s worth it to get a good image! Just to add, iPhones or iPads have very good cameras, I often use my iPhone for photos that appear in my features in The Artist, they’re already set to photograph at the highest resolution. I don’t believe Android cameras are as good!

Faye, I used to have prints made from a very good local guy ( don’t now) . I gave him my pics and he scanned them. There was an initial charge for this but I got to keep that first print. He then showed them to me for approval( re contrast , colour etc) and then made prints. He did short runs so I didn’t have to have 100 minimum etc. I also chose the paper surface etc. That’s what you need to look for - short runs and an initial scan/ print which you are happy with.
Thank you very much Alan and Marjorie. Sadly don't have a iPhone or ipad. Thank for your advice. Much appreciated 🤗
Just seen this Faye.  I use my IPad to take pics obviously in a good light and take a few to choose the best.  I use Snapfish to print them anon line company  I usually only have 6x4 or 5x5 inch prints . Their site is very user friendly and cheap .I use my pics to mount onto blanks to make cards.  They do all sorts of other stuff eg Canvas prints have no idea what they are like but worth a Google they always have ongoing offers.
Hi Sylvia  Oh okay I'll check snapfish out. I would like to do some cards. Thank you very much for the info 😊
