Smashing sketching everyone. I've been under the weather the past couple of days but I'm on the mend now. I was very happy to see in my email box that I had some free videos from Raw Umber. Rapid sketching, portraits and a couple of others. This was a rapid charcoal sketch. I caught a likeness of the model with regards to shape and contrast. It wasn't a perfect likeness, the actual model had a broader face, but I realised, in rapid sketching, it's not about even capturing a likeness, it's all about getting the shapes in and getting a grasp of the tones. Charcoal is really great, you can lift it with a brush, smudge and blend with cotton buds and tissue, really quick for getting those high and low lights.
Happy sketch Denise.   Try covering a whole piece of paper with charcoal.  So that it's lovely and black and messy.   Then do your drawing with a putty rubber .it's great fun.
Great sketch Denise.
Some excellent sketch posted . A quick one from me of a old poacher at work , know ac “ Orris”.
Rough working sketch for a painting of a trawler in the yard for repairs.
Now, there's a bit of hard work ahead for you!  Best of luck with it.
Very nice sketches Paul.
