Well done Denise. Look forward to seeing the marble! I have a tiny sketch pad which fits in my bag or even a pocket so no real excuse for leaving it at home. I also have a slightly bigger one about 6” square which I keep in the car most of the time.
Nice pocket sized Tessa! Here is today’s sketch as must kerp trying figures
Mmm, torso looks a bit too long I think these are all on A3 by the way
It's a bit out of proportion to the legs, but I assumed you were chanelling El Greco ... you spotted the problem yourself, though, which is good; those in whom one tends to give up hope are those who never see what's wrong with their (our) drawings; there's always hope for those of us who spot the snags. Yes, it's the torso that's too long - have another crack at it?   The drawing above it - though not a pose I suspect either of us would want to try - is a lot better!

Gillian, are you sight measuring as you go along? Extending your arm and pencil and marking off with your thumb? Eg. the distance along the pencil is, say, halfway……then use this as you draw, the distance between the points will be proportionately the same. Am I explaining clearly?
Marjorie your explanation about measuring makes sense thanks. I have been trying but I have been using charcoal sticks which are too short. However I do have tinted charcoal pencils somewhere so I will have a go with them! Thanks for your comments too Robert!

Sitting having coffee with a friend last Friday and this amazing lady wafted past us. My friend managed to take a photograph  of her before she became suspicious.   My friend said I could use her pic. I am putting off doing any picture making at the moment my eyes are not improving.  Anyhow she was such an inspire I have had to have a go.   Inktense pencil and pen.
You definitely need to paint her Sylvia , I don’t do portraits but would have been tempted myself . So sad that your having problems with your vision but I know you will, keep doing what you can and you love doing.
Thank you Paul. I really couldn't ignore her she was magnificent. She then met a friend and we heard her German accent.   So a tourist brightening up our little town.
That’s a brilliant waft, Sylvia.
She was amazing Marjorie....
