Thought I would try and keep a sketch a day going as it’s a great way to improve our drawing skills.join in when you can. I will post a sketch later today!
Well done Gillian for setting it up , I enjoy dropping the occasional sketch/ painting in . Today is a quick watercolour sketch using leftover paint in the  pallet, scrap paper , done with a 1 1/2 inch mop and fine rigger. Just painted what came to mind, drawn with the brushes.
Nice one Paul, I am carrying on with the nautical theme with an old winch on a house pier here in Stromness. Not my usual subjects but could hardly ignore them in such an environment.  Sitting opposite the Scapa Flow and the last port for the Hudson Bay Company before heading off to Canada! Not to mention our famous arctic explorer John Rae who discovered the North West Passage.
The sketching forum is great Gillian, big thanks for keeping it going. Smashing sketches Paul and Gillian. Quick sketch of a duck I took a photo of in the park.
Bigger feet, Denise, or ducky will fall over and bang his snoot - but otherwise, yup - it's a duck.   At my local hospital they have grounds & water features: as the staff (and occasional volunteers, such as myself when I could still do it) go out to have our sandwiches, the ducks sidle up to us and poke their necks and bills upwards in an appealing search for food = you've got the ducky body, but the feet are much bigger: I've had them planting them on my shoes, so I know!
I'm laughing Robert, I didn't realise how small I had done the feet. I couldn't get a clear view of the feet but they look so funny now I'm looking at them. I might do a bit of a painting with ducks but get the feet right.
Thanks for keeping this going Gillian, I seem to have dropped the habit of posting recently. Here is a little watercolour sketch of a small blue butterfly on a daisy. I enjoyed the ducky comments Robert and Denise, the feet really are quite large!
On a walk up to Holywell stop for a drink of water and couldn't resist this...
There's a lot of bottom there, Bari...... as an entirely sociological note, it does disturb me to see so many VAST backsides among my fellow citizens these days, reminiscent of the USA 20 years ago: you see 'em queuing for fish and chips, and think - 'that's really the LAST thing you need'...
They were my thoughts too Robert. Not very PC I’m sure! Another sketch from our river holiday last week.
Good heavens young Robert I can’t believe your not being PC I’m absolutely shocked  , but your right . And you as well Katy I cannot believe it , a Good sketch by the way. A very quick pencil and watercolour sketch from me inspired by watching a program of the marshes in southern Iraq, reminded me of Norfolk broads .

It’s burgers in the States Robert, or was the last time I was there… triple and quadruple stacked up - ugh, such gluttony!
