Members of Painters-online.co.uk might well be interested in an opportunity to Study Fine Art Painting with a mentor at the New Art School. The mentoring programme at the New Art School is delivered by one on one tutorial, or Video Call (Skype) or written email reports. In my opinion it’s great to have a mentor who gives you monthly feedback on your art work. If forum members are interested in checking this out then please go to:

to check out the programmes. Examples of their tutors work can be seen on their Instagram handle: @new.art.school 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🦄

With full courses costing £1440, surely you can afford paid advertising? People would also have more confidence in the 'NewArt' school; if they published a street address and telephone number on their website. It seems a tad unfair that you expect your prospective students to give you these details, but don't share your own. Pay money to a company you can only contact via their website....no thank you

Mmm.
If this were accompanied by a paid advertisement in the magazines, I'd find it more impressive. Although - the price compares well with alternative courses, taken over the full year; and while I don't know the work of the mentors, there seems to be a respectable academic background. The question would be, perhaps, what you're expecting to get out of it - a new venture's certificate/diploma won't carry much weight, if that's what you're looking for. It would need to be established for some while for that to be the case. If you're not very interested in degrees or academic awards, though, and have this sort of money to spend - I've already forgotten the exact details, but around £740 down, and the rest in instalments, I think - provided you were committed to the course, and it was a good one with equally committed mentors, I'd be tempted to have a crack at it: if I were 40 years younger. I haven't the commitment, energy, time, or desire to engage with Skype now - and besides, my broadband keeps dropping out...
I'm as cynical and sceptical as the next man, but let us be honest: no one is going to get insanely rich on a year-long course costing £1,440 - so, I'd suggest to the New Art School that they invest in an advertisement in The Artist (if they haven't) and show some support for the company that has provided them with a platform; and I'd suggest to younger, keen artists anxious to improve, or even to learn some of the tricks of the promotional trade, that they look into this, do their own research, and at least seek further information from the business owners - e.g. exactly what does the course consist of; how much individual mentoring will I get; what's the difference between mentoring and tuition ("mentoring" on its own could be a not very onerous requirement); and how I get my money back if the course turns out to be completely unsuitable for me.
I should be interested to hear how students who do sign up get on.

I looked up one of the artists and she seemed kosher. I think it’s quite genuine and they are just casting their net far and wide. It is the wrong place but ten out of ten for effort.
Exactly like Robert and his reasons it’s not for me.
At least it’s better than “rune gold”..
I wish the multi posters of Marilyn and Phsyco babble ( no I don’t like them at all ) would take the very big hints and bugger off to where they should be posting.
They are arrogant in the extreme.

Well, I didn't click the link but did google New art School in Lewes. Don't know if this is one and the same? They are doing 2/3 up and coming courses which sound very good and are reasonably priced. I can certainly vouch for Andrew James who is conducting a portraiture masterclass. I was fortunate for my husband to give me a 2.5 hour 1 to 1 with him late last year. Just brilliant.
