Hi everyone. It seem at the moment that some people are multi posting there artwork, I know that we can upload four in a twenty four hours period but this has a knock on effect when several people do it . I have been guilty when I first started to use the gallery I just wanted my artwork out there for people to see and I can understand why that’s done initially. The adverse effects are that other people work disappears of the the first two pages very quickly and as most people don’t look beyond that the work is lost from view . We all post our work in the hope that it get seem and we get some comments or advice . The people in asking are those that multi post regularly, please consider other users of the gallery and post two at the most . The benefit is this will give all the members a chance to put there stuff up and I have a better chance of been seen.   I write this as some members have approached me saying how it’s unfair and inconsiderate to other users. I have to say thst I do tend to agree with them and I’m sure no one deliberately posts their work and do not care about other people’s work , it more a case of I didn’t realise or think it would have that effect . Long winded posting I know put into a simple sentence. Please only post TWO paintings in twenty four hours  I thank you for you support and consideration for the other Gallery members.
Those are fair comments Paul.  Getting the message across might be one of the reasons as I'm sure many don't read items in the forums. Personally, I can't see a problem with limiting posting only one item per 24hours! Doubtless though many would disagree.
That’s a good point Fiona , I had thought of putting a comment on one of their posts asking then to look at the forum . But not sure how well that will go down , he’ll why not be Mr Unpopular won’t be the first time nor the last I bet.
I agree with Fiona. One a day is plenty.
I agree, though I've done two in the past. More than one is not necessary.
Just to try to balance the discussion, and to hopefully prevent “the squeaky wheel from ‘always’ getting the grease” I have no problems with the current four a day limit, and have no wish at all to see it reduced.  I am a regular painter, sometimes two or more a day, and I have been known to post four in one day myself. My own personal goal is to post a 1000, and I am three quarters of the way towards that. When I first started posting, around 2017, there didn’t appear seem to be such a ‘controlling’ regimen in place. People were not being discouraged, rather the opposite, there were a lot more competitions and challenges on a monthly basis, again these seem to be currently omitted from the palette of painters online.  We all know the healing power of practical activities such as arts and crafts, and the well-being benefits they bring. Similarly those who feel less creative may get similar benefits from being in a a more managerial role, I know a lot of gallery owners and few of them are artists. I am mostly concerned though that a loss of inclusivity will be achieved in reducing postings and may have a negative effect on those who are vulnerable to feelings of marginalisation and exclusion. The goal of this site and its members should be to promote opportunities for all people to participate and be treated equally
Personally, I wouldn't post four myself, I feel this is too much. At the same time, whilst the rules state four in a twenty-four hour period, I don't have a problem with this. As people are sticking to the rules. I think when members are unhappy with a particular rule, it should be discussed and reviewed by those with the power to make changes necessary, in order that people feel the rules are fair for all. While the rules state four, it's not our decision. If the rules stated two per twenty-four hours, people would stick to that but the problem is, it states four.

I've no problem with four postings.  I'd have more of a problem if the people who post four were made to feel bad about it.  It does mean the gallery pages zip through faster, and if you want to view the gallery you'll have to look at more than the first page.  So what? I just tried to find something in the 'inspiration' section of the forum, I had to wade through masses of the 'inspiration from artists' series.  Does that mean there are too many of them?  No.  It's an interesting series.  I just had to spend a little more time looking.
Justin you make some very valid points , the idea of opening the discussion is to let people have there say and not intended to exclude or marginalise anyone . I have spent years working with vulnerable and marginalised people and do understand that some people will feel it’s aimed at them , that unfortunately I cannot change and would if could . The post come from several people having said that it feels unfair that some post four on a regular basis and that it moves artwork of the page , they do know that the rules state four in twenty four hours . What might help if people stage their posting and not put four on with one hit , I was not suggesting a reduction what I am suggesting is that as a community we could think of other .  That’s good target you have set your self 1000 paintings , I have never thought of a target I just paint as I feel like it , good luck and I hope to see your 1000 painting. Have you promised yourself a treat when you reach the target or will doing it be the reward. I will just go put a bit more grease on the wheels before I do anything else . It would be nice to see people interacting on the forum more as then it might not seem so one side .
Just maybe if there was more genuine work on the gallery four would be acceptable .  Once upon a time there would be dozens of postings from the  same  post.  From another view point , I usually look at one piece of work from a poster but rarely comment on more than one.

Same here Sylvia. I would struggle to produce four paintings of any worth in a day. Obviously you could wait until you have a few and post them together if you want them to be seen together, which may be a good and reasonable point.   Sketches, pen and ink etc may be different. If you’re doing digital photo manipulation it seems easy to knock out four in no time. This subject keeps reading its ugly head. I have suggested two a day max, but can appreciate Justin and Dixie’s point re inclusivity.
I have two or three paintings almost ready to post, but wouldn't bung them all on at once, from choice - I'd rather people concentrated on my stuff without having to work on a batch at a time .... before it gets knocked right off the front page by more blasted multiple posters, but there we are: that's the penalty of having a popular site. As for actually painting four a day: no, of course you can't; you can dig out a back catalogue, maybe, but on the whole the site is likely to do better with new work; or if you must trawl through your old work, at least drip-feed us with it.
