Gillian like the old chap walking along , looks like me when I’m in the woodland. Nice bright flowers Tessa, and your toadstool is psychedelic, might be a magic one? Like to toad as well, definitely something bewitching going on. I went to visit a friend who has a forestry company, and stores his steam roller, traction engine and this static steam engine in his yard. Sketched on site , add most of the colours at home, nice to be out , he wants me to do a painting of his steam roller at some stage. After I have photographed him cutting down an removing trees with his tractors etc., that should give a couple of potential paintings. Pen and watercolour a4 sketching paper.
Good to try different things Linda. I’ve mostly painted in oils but have recently got into watercolours and more pen &mixed media. The problem with oils is they’re a pit of a palaver to take around with you.
Like the look of the inktense bars, Tessa, I think they would suit me more than the pencils. Love the lightbulb moment!  Linda, love the colours in your toad and toadstool, I like acrylic ink but some of them get clogged at the bottom and are difficult to stir. Wondered which you use? Paul, you’re so good at drawing/painting all the boys toys!
Yesterday’s sketch of an old door, whilst watching something boring on telly. I gave my watercolour pencils an outing.
Here’s an old fashioned light bulb moment!
Nice sketches Tessa and Gillian. Like the wall and gate Katy, I do like painting boat , trucks etc I found todays hard as I hurt two my fingers on my right had whilst at the yard sketching, came home and could not do much. Since had then splinted at A&E, as they were broken , would be my right hand. Still managing to scribble a bit.
Gosh Paul, how did you break two fingers, is that what you call extreme sketching?
Poor Dixie! Hope the splints help. I guess that’s all they can do. Take it easy and don’t overdo it. x
Thank Katy and Tessa  for you kind words. That will teach me to look at what in doing, I jumped down but failed to notice my fingers were hooked up on a gear wheel. I think I said ouch at the time, but might have been a bit stronger language. I can just hold a pencil and brush so will give it a go later can alway have a go left handed , won’t be the first time.
Ouch indeed a Dixie! Hope they settle down quickly having been strapped but don’t over do things!
Well I’ve managed to get this basic layout done for a painting, it would normally take about half to three quarters of an hour. I’ve spent time on one off all day doing bits at a time, I have drawn more detail than normal as I’m not sure I could do any of the line with a brush   due to the finger splints. We will just have to wait and see, I can already see a couple of error but will change them as I go along.
That drawing looks really good Dixie, despite the handicap. My offerings are just playing around with black quick ink and water and seeing how it’s splits (I thought it needed to be bleach!) and adding in a bit of acrylic ink. The grapes are watercolour. I’m just using up scraps of paper or the back of a dud at the moment for practice.
