Alan as I said to you earlier I’m frankly shocked at the way you have been spoken to, unfortunately it seems to be the way of things these day obey the rules and question those who might well be flaunting them and you are in the wrong.
I personally put a comment on another post by the same person this afternoon when I was looking at his/ her gallery and therefore I to am a bully , like you I have support the forum and worked to keep it free from spammers etc , I never intended to bully anyone on this site or anywhere else for that matter. Still we know where we stand now and I certainly won’t be standing still and a target of the very people we are trying to support in making this a safe place to enjoy and engage with like minded people. I won’t do anything at the moment as I will be reacting while I’m driving by frustration and quite frankly anger,I will be considering what I do on the forum in the future . I’m really saddened that this has happened, time to stop before I rant on and on.

If I leave the site it won't be a great loss because I've posted very few works since around January. I was about to correct that. However, while I'll sleep on it, my immediate reaction is that this is a shameful email from Lucie Dawson, whom I don't know and with whom I've had no connection; it is as offensive as it is nonsensical. AI work permeates all too many websites, and is progressively destroying them for anybody who wishes to involve themselves without pretence and deceit. It seems that the company - and I appreciate its difficulties in countering AI posts, although they don't even seem inclined to try - is simply not concerned, provided it gets subscribers.
Well as of tomorrow morning, if I still feel as I do tonight, I shall cancel my subscription to the magazines, and of course resign from the Forum. I do not wish to be associated with a company which treats members like this, cannot exercise any control over AI slop, seems to be unaware of all that some of us have done before their time and since, to promote it. Only an unreserved apology from Ms Dawson would stand any chance of changing my mind. I don't expect that to matter to them if they feel they can treat Alan, who has been a mainstay of the Forum, the Gallery, and the magazine, in this disgraceful way. However, it matters to me - and if it doesn't to them, they need to recast their moral bearings.

Listen guys, I posted Lucie’s email as an alternative to contacting each individual who had made a comment about AI, as I’d been instructed to do by Lucie.
I don’t want anyone to leave the site because of this, please sleep on it and address any issues tomorrow.
Of course we were only expressing our opinions, I was indeed staggered to get Lucie’s blunt email because I’ve never been a bully… it’s insulting actually.
There’s a small group of members who are the mainstay of this forum and gallery, the glue if you like… we can’t afford to lose them, and I include myself in that group.
I post new stuff most days on the gallery and contribute regularly to stuff on the forum.
This is what I wrote: and I quote;
‘Has a look of AI, hope I’m wrong!’

Here, here Alan. No-one should leave over this. The only way to change Warners mind is to stay and speak up when things do not seem right. And let us not forget that the vast majority of forum posts are about art and not about controversial posts, it would be a terrible shame to lose what we have and who we have in the forum. Let Warners express their opinion, nothing wrong with a debate in a forum.

Personally I think it would be a tragedy if very valued people like Robert, Lewis, Alan, and others leave this site because of this. In spite of the incursion of AI the website still performs a very valuable function, people can make their art visible to a wider audience than would otherwise be the case, and those of us who look on the Gallery get to see a wide range of art we wouldn't otherwise. We can get useful feedback, and have interesting discussions and get help for problems on the Forum (Robert I'd still be stuck with the gesso problem if I hadn't been able to access your advice). The Artist thread introduces us to a wide range of artists that I for one hadn't come across. I do hope that those who were so angry initially will stop and consider just what we'd all be losing if you leave. This communication just isn't worth the loss. Do please reconsider.

AI on the site has to be sorted out. This is an art site where ,you would hope, people are honest about their work so that we can chat and share ideas. This has always been the strength of this site and has set it apart. AI is a major threat to this and that is why people feel so strongly about what appears to be happening. How can this be addressed in a constructive manner without causing further upset? If the site is to be kept free of AI, Is there a quick and effective way of checking posts before they appear on the site?
I have been a contributor on this site for many years and have found it supportive, engaging and collaborative. It would be a great shame if all this were to be lost.

I am one of the people who posted a comment on one of the painting , not the same one as Alan and Robert , I said it looks more AI than Oil . I was hoping that I would get a response explaining what method was used , it’s no different to what I have asked others before is it what medium is it, it looked like a photo etc, I genuinely thought that it was a valid question asked by someone who like artworks and wants to know . Has the response being it’s AI I would have posted a comment say that I was disappointed that it had been posted on a painters gallery again a personal opinion.
As to Lew , Robert and Alan leaving the forum and gallery that would be a step into the graveyard for POL , both contribute in different ways, but both have so much knowledge and skill to offer the site and it’s members now and new members as they join . I feel at the moment that I don’t want to continue with the support I have and do give the forum , I leave my opinions open.

I've been chewing this over. I was annoyed that Alan of all people should receive such an email. There's not a more even-handed and helpful fella. The email was also aimed at all of us. My leaving would deprive me of the input of people I've come to like and admire, I'd miss the chat, the occasional disagreement, the general wit and bonhomie. So leaving would only affect me, I'd be shooting myself in the foot. I hope Robert and Paul will continue their fantastic input and support of this website.
At the moment we've only had the occasional ai posts, if this site goes the way of Pinterest, I may have to reconsider. In that case, I doubt I'd be alone.
I've been looking into ai, and shall be doing a topic on it elsewhere. As always it will just be an opinion, whatever else could it be?? I need to know more about ai, and have sought a clearer understanding of it.
