The photo turned out of situ .... This drawing I attempted recently Glass Jars' 2B and HB .......
A quick watercolour sketch, old rust ship.
Lovely water colour sketch Paul, love these drawings of old ships marooned on the sand. You painted the ribs well and rustic too, shows age and dignity! Lovely sketches from Sylvia too, the figures turned out superb! Nice drawing Jenny and good to return again after a while, just getting back into Still-life drawing and always start with fruit! Here are four poses of an apple...shall try to start some line drawings this week.
Nice figure drawings Denise, Sylvia and Gillian , it's great to be back once again, and shall probably try a figure drawing this week. Wish you all a fabulous week and opportunity to sketch more! Angela 🤗
Nice to see everyone back and doing some sketching, two from me the ring in the stone is one I will eventually Dona small watercolour painting of its rusty just my thing . The old coppice stool is from Low Scrub a ancient woodland that was used by the local poor for firewood , lots of these old parish woodlands about  with some superb examples of coppice stools .
My sketch from last night's life class. It's difficult to judge scale when all the limbs are foreshortened. This was a 30 min pose. As the weeks go on, poses will get longer giving us chance to add detail and shade. I enjoyed it and think I will get a lot from it.
A decent job Denise! Needless to say, it’s one of the most difficult disciplines to master, and takes dedication and a lot of practice! All things that you already know of course…but you will get there in time, because you want to succeed! I’m rather surprised that you’re moving on to longer poses so soon! I consider these short 30 minute (or even less) poses to be the most valuable when starting out… For my money, I’m more interested in studying the human form in multiple poses, understanding the anatomy etc, rather than concerning myself with shading and so on - that is for much later! Colour comes even much later… But obviously your tutor sees it differently - are you getting any one-to-one quality time with the tutor?

It's a small group Alan, 5 in total. We did two 10 minute poses before the 30 minutes. There was about half an hour teaching before sketching began. We had constructive criticism and we all shared our work and discussed it. We will be looking at anatomy during the course. The tutor did spend time coming around each of us.
Nice size group Denise, let’s hope nobody drops out…the curriculum sounds just fine…
Good work, everyone. I like your glass work, Angela. A good start to your life class, Denise. It was a choice of two classes for me, life class or creative writing . . . I went for the latter.
