There's some lovely sketching in the preceding posts and as I haven't contributed much lately, here's a preliminary sketch for an acrylic painting I'm planning. It's Carreg Cennen Castle in Carmarthenshire - well worth a visit if only for the views from the top. This was done using charcoal and water soluble crayons.

Excellent work, Andrew, if has a air of mystery and quite compelling.
Excellent sketch of Carreg Cennen Andrew. Its a very dramatic place which you have captured well.
I usually post on the sketch a day threads but there has been a bit of creative famine in my studio of late. I have difficulty concentrating ( a byproduct of Parkinson’s ) I completed this drawing last night I used Staedtler metallic pens in assorted colours on blue paper
Oh Gill that is very splendid.
A lovely piece of work Gillian!
A beautiful dragon, the detailing is superb Gill something I know you struggle with but honestly it’s really good.
Lovely dragon, Gillian, the dark background sets the colours off really well.
It has worked really well Gillian.
Life drawing.
Well done you aDenise.   Did you do this from life?   Charcoal or Comte are good mark makers….and fingers.
Yes, it's from life, from my Monday session. Graphite. 40 mins.
