Thank you George.
Maybe they were more difficult to do Sylvia but they are still as good as ever!
Oh Marjorie thankyou,  I have plans…..
I was testing out a sketching set my son bought me last birthday, heavy feel to them as they are metal . Very robust and ideal for working outside etc, I have shown them before but never really put them to tests , tend to be old fashioned and live the humble pencil. Once I’ve used them a bit more they will be fine and having different sizes and choices of leads etc will be good on holiday or just out and about.
Tw quick sketches an a study of a horse  , I’m not bothering with the figure as the horse is main  feature.
That’s a great Shire horse drawing Paul…not sure he’s in proportion to the figure though, which looks a bit big.
It does look out of proportion Alan , the original photo was in a farming magazine the farmer is just under six and a half feet, the horse is one of the smaller heavy horse breeds, not sure if it’s a Clydesdale or a cross breed Suffolk punch . From what I understand they can come in a couple of hands smaller than the Shire , what attracted me was the big man with what is supposed to be a bigger horse, I should have explained that when I posted it.

The Sunflowers are very pretty Sylvia and I like the sketch of the dog Paul.
Lots of good sketches on show. Sorry I haven't been commenting or posting anything.   I've been ill.   A curious effect was that it drove all interest in art from my mind...very odd because I've always had that interest.  I need to get back in the swing of it, art being one of the things I can still do.  Here's a few doodles from my sketchbook.  They were done in the 'draw anything' spirit, because I'm still struggling to motivate myself.  Why I should draw a carnivorous snail is beyond me...but it's 'something', and I need to draw 'something' until better ideas present themselves.
Good to see you back Lew so sorry you have been unwell….also good to see your drawings, especially the toothy snail.
Ihave an impetuous fat finger   Thanks Denise…teas a bit hit and miss

Yes, welcome back Lew… glad to hear that you’re on the mend! This is stage 3 of my Boston scene WIP. All the basics are blocked in, much work still to be done though.  I’ll drop a couple more boats in as well, and perhaps a couple of small figures - although it is supposed to be an early morning scene… but it needs some I think! Dreadful photo as I’ve taken it in the studio, colours are nicer than what you see here!
