NNice work everyone, I really like the look of your tree Andrew . I’m trying to use dip pens , big learning curve this is a very quick one using black in and water I did use a small brush to apply the water , I’m also trying to keep it loose . It’s in a pad in using for pen work .

This has a real charm Paul, I like the loose approach.
I did this sketch then coloured it in later. I don’t usually do figures in action, so it’s a bit of a first for me, as is the whole watercolour business.
Your figures are working well -  I'll leave it to the watercolourists among us to comment on the other parts of the painting; other than to suggest you might consider changing your blue - it's a bit sombre, and pulls the mood down.  Or that's what I thought, anyway - plenty of other opinions will be available.
You are doing very well with the new figures and watercolour business as you call it Brett. So keep it up.
I agree with what both Robert and John have said , as to the blue you are using  it look a bit insipid It looks like you have use a bit of purple or a different blue to give a variation in the water . I would suggest that you use one blue and vary the tone , try it out on a bit of scrap paper, I always keep some handy , usually off cuts from an old painting .
Good morning, painters and illustrators! The early bird catches the worm :) There are so many wonderful drawings and pictures here, I love these quick sketches! At the risk of increasing the cat population, I'll show you my little morning rituals :) Léon is always working very diligently with me!!
Leon looks like he has had a hard  working session with the pens .  Pen and white acrylic paint pen , I find the these little A6 sketches useful as it sometimes give ideas for larger pieces. I seem to have damaged the edge of the paper, probably the bit of masking tape I use to pin it down.
Sometimes the looseness of sketches is more satisfying than carefully thought through work.

This is good one of your best Brett. Such good sense of depth and variety of contrasting Greens. One for the gallery.
I feel that quick sketches can say just as much as finished work.
Great sketches, and yes, Brett, it turned out very well; it's beautiful to see how the colors come together in a glaze, with a lovely depth effect.
