Fine for the Chinese if you believe along those lines. For me it’s the EAGLE.  Some spread their wings like Eagles and soar on the wind. Come along and spread your wings like an Eagles and soar above on the wind.
Another for good measure. My father in law saw this still wet on the canvas and purchased it there and then.
Olney hosted its annual pancake race yesterday. Sketch from me based on a snapshot on my phone. Some chose to do it as a three legged race.
Everyone needs a father-in-law like John Graham Inkson's  - I can see why he fell for it; and pancakes - ah: that solves my what-to-have-for-lunch dilemma.
How were the pancakes Robert? My daily effort today is a sketch of Queens Court Central Milton Keynes. In preparation for a larger acrylic painting. This allows me to decide whether I've bitten off more than I can chew and gracefully forget about the whole thing. 😁

It’s a challenge, and thats how we progress Andrew. So get on and do it.
The pancakes were good on the whole, becoming a little crisp as we went on......  I'm sure a painting based on your drawing wouldn't be beyond you, so echo J G I's words - go on; have a bash at it.
Two quick pen and wash the one on grey paper is a6 other one a5.
I haven’t had time  to sketch over the past few days, I did set this one up for a pen and wash , it’s based on a corner shop my sister and her husband had back in the 1970 in Leeds . I used more than a bit of artistic license think I’ve used it more than ever , the tower is actually a chimney that was part of the Tower Works where I started my apprenticeship, move it about six miles . The dark church steeple was put in tho cover a mistake that I could not remove any other way.
Nice one Paul, I look forward to seeing it with the wash stage, on the gallery, although it has a certain charm in its present form 😁 I don't usually paint faces, but thought I'd give it a go. Here's a a watercolour sketch based on a photo I took earlier this week:
Lots of interesting stuff on here.  I like your 'artistic license' Paul.  We'd never know if you hadn't told us, it works very well.  You should do more faces Andrew...you've made a good start. I've been messing around with acrylic, using it in a watercoloury way.  It's been a boon to me to find I can use unprimed watercolour paper, it feels more like what I'm used to.  This is on the back of a 300gsm piece that I messed up.  The idea is to play around with glazing.  I've done this mono drawing in acrylic... ...I'll be putting some colour glazes on it.  Not fussed where it goes, it's just a play around.
Spent a session sketching this boat scene, then thought it might make a good linoprint, so reversed it on the computer. It’s A3 in size, so would be the largest linoblock I can handle at present. I saw these boats at Sherringham last summer.
