Having not picked up my brushes since my wife passed away, five years ago, I feel somewhat unsure about posting some of my old work.  But who knows, maybe it will give me the kick I need to start again.  I am not sure why I have chosen these three, other than there is just something about them I like.  They are all acrylic, either on canvas board or canvas textured paper. Tony it really nice to see your paintings , all three are excellent. This is a painting I’m particularly pleased with as it followed a period being unable to paint , it just came together probably because it wasn’t rushed .

Back in my art student days, we used cheap alternatives to art materials… This was painted in food colouring and bleach! I’m surprised that it has lasted well over 30 years. I’ve always liked it. It’s a picture of the glass mouthpiece of my clarinet
Love seeing all these personal pieces of work.
I do love a beach scene, and this was painted with the help of some photos from holidays in Cornwall a few years ago.
Would be great if you were to pick up a paintbrush again, Tony, the professor is excellent as well as your other two. The movement on Tessa's beach is fabulous, and the calmness of Paul's pastoral would be great on a wall. Food dye and bleach...who knew, Helen the experimenter.
Thought I’d be indulgent and post another one… quite atmospheric I thought, I’m always trying to capture atmosphere in my work… doesn’t always work out! Evening Light over Pin Mill, oil on board.
Good to see Tony's work, I especially like the painting of the young girl...a very natural pose.  Painting  with food colouring and BLEACH??  What a keepsake for Helen, and I didn't know clarinets had GLASS mouthpieces.  Tessa's beach scene is a lively image, and I love the way she's painted the figure in a few strokes of the brush.  Good to see all this work, some of it new to me.  No matter how often you view the gallery there is stuff that you miss. One more from me.  I've a liking for retro sci-fi art, especially the pen and scratchboard work.  Here I'm imagining a land of giants.  I don't know for sure, but among all the 'astounding' and 'amazing' stories, as they were hyped, is one called land of giants.
It's good to see all of the work you are particularly fond of , I find sketching or painting elephants really difficult . A few years back I decided to paint and elephant and did this one over a couple of days, it's the first one I did properly and have never been able to repeat it , it hangs framed on my studio wall ,yes I am very proud of this piece.
That's a beauty Paul.  It's one of my favorites of your work.
This was the first piece I posted on POL 10 years ago, one of the best things I ever did - not the painting but joining POL!
I'm sharing this one on this thread as it was the first painting I ever posted on POL in 2021. It was also the largest piece I had ever done - at just 101 x 81cm it doesn't seem that large compared to others. Since that first posting I now have 170 entries on POL and I'm grateful to you lot for keeping me going. It's a composite view of things I spotted in Canada during a holiday -  combining building reflections seen in downtown Montreal, Niagara Falls and tourists in rain hoods on the Maid of The Mist.
