Thanks Paul. Here's a boathouse after the late Frank Clarke. In Acrylic Followed by the dead tree in Langley park, in oil, from my photo.  Still doesn't look as striking as it did when you turned the corner and spotted it.  Now sadly pulled to pieces by someone or other. . .
Thank you Alan.

The nice thing is that we’ve all got something we like, for whatever reason. That’s what keeps us going.
My favourite painting is this one.  From a photo that I took for a photographic competition where it was dismissed as rubbish.  Pastel. The painting that I’m most proud of is this one.  Probably not my best work but I painted it for a competition for an opportunity to have my work exhibited with members of The Royal Society of Marine Artists in Exeter and I was so proud to be selected and see my work alongside such fantastic artists as Geoff Hunt and David Curtis.  I appreciate that it is not a painting that most people would want on their wall.  It shows a Brixham Trawler undergoing a rebuild, “little Mint” the crew of which saved the lives of a another vessel in Lyme Bay on their way to Folkestone during the Second World War to make the run to Dunkirk.  Unfortunately she arrived too late!
On the contrary Alan, the colours and light in the second one make it very attractive. Love the light and the palette in the first one.
This one is one in quite proud of despite the it not being particularly good, after showing to a friend the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund used it as a Christmas Cart to send out to members. I do have a card and will photograph it tomorrow and add to this .
How lovely that it was used for a card Paul. A good feeling to be appreciated.
Thank you Marjorie, apparently what attracted them was it shows the ground trades that keep the aircraft flying and protect them on the ground, including the newly formed RAF Regiment.
Not really a favourite, but one from which I learned a lot.  I don’t like doing animal portraits but find it hard to say no when a friend asks.  I started this in watercolour and was getting nowhere with it - was about to bin it, but hate giving up and wondered if I could go over it with my Neocolour II water soluble wax pastels (used dry).  Sometimes when you know you can’t ruin a painting any more and stop worrying about it, it all just comes together!  I was surprised how well it turned out using the pastels, drawing with them rather than painting, hadn’t used them that way before.

That's impressive Jenny. Breaking the rules is the way to go.  I must explore water soluble pastels.
Such interesting work on display. This is a portrait of my grandson when he was 10...he's nearly18 now.  (The face from a photo, the rest made up.)  At the time he had an all consuming interest in Einstein.  Odd for a 10 year old.  He's still interested in most things, and loves good old fashioned books.  He's into all the modern tech stuff too, but thinks books are special.  This painting is unusual for me.  It's an oil.  I'd intended to do more work on the face and hair, but I had a very good likeness, and decided to quit while I was ahead.
