Life in North Devon
Watercolour and animals
Well, where do I start with a blog? What do I chat about? Who do I chat to and so on. I've never created a Blog before so please bear with me!
My name is..............errm.....let me think...... oh yes, it's Paul and I am a leisure painter from North Devon who works full time outdoors in all weathers as a Meter Reader in all the rural areas over here.
I paint mainly one day a week on a weekend but would love to fine more time to commit to my artwork. I sadly suffer from very sore eyes which constantly run when outside in the cold, wind and wet weather. So unfortunately my eyes are far to sore to paint during the evenings after spending eight hours outdoors working.
So my lifetime ambition is to be able to paint full time and earn enough to support my partner and myself and maybe one day...........well you never know! :-)
I prefer to paint with watercolours but I do occasionally used water based oils, Prismacolor Pencils, acrylics and normal oil paints.
My preferred subject matter has to be animals especially birds. I can spend many hours crouched in a corner of a wood sitting very still in order to photograph birds for painting.
I occasionally sell most of my paintings unframed on Ebay for around £70 but sometime they can be bidded up a little which tends to cover Ebay, PayPal and postage fees. So not a lot of money made for an adverage of 8hours work, but I do get a thrill out of knowing someone likes my work enough to buy it!
This is just a little about me and what I do but if you would like to see some more of my work I have made myself a web site, well two really! Please have a look at www.devonartist.co.uk and www.letterboxstamper.co.uk
