Yupo 10x14" in pencil watercolour and gouache. One day each year the Running Marathon comes to Ross in Midlands Tasmania and hundreds of runners of all ages and levels of fitness converge on the sleepy little village to compete in a range of events. This image is an attempt to capture the atmosphere as the runners set out from the starting line just metres from our front gate.

I'm an 81 year old retired surgeon . Art has been my lifelong obsession away from work and now my main focus in life together with woodwork. I enjoy creating and making in any medium but have always gravitated to drawing and watercolour. I've also had limited training in etching and sculpture.
