Love the textures and effect you have got Rachel.

Lights and darks! always attract attention! Great immediacy here Rachel! Well described

A super painting Rachel.

Absolutely brilliant, it’s eye catching .

Thank you so so much- Sarah, Thalia, Carole and Paul - really appreciated.

Gorgeous light.

Lovely light and interesting shadow!

I tried something slightly similar a while ago, attempting to capture a sliver of light at the other end of the day - found getting the tones right very difficult (and I didn't get 'em right, either!). It was judging the right tone for the darker part that was the issue, so I'm not even slightly surprised to read that you took "ages to get everything working coherently"! Yours, a fellow sufferer - but at least you got there in the end.

This is just brilliant Rachel, I love it!

Thank you Emma, Romila, Robert ( the tone of the shadow is possibly to dark among other things🫣) And Diane.

Just got to this scene in the nick of time just before the shadows changed drastically. It was the high contrast of light and dark on the field that captured my attention. Loved using the paint in different ways, mixing it on the board, palette knife etc - although it took ages to get everything working coherently - Also had a bit of a block this week so good to get back out-
