I like this type of work with brush strokes… I don’t want a photographic finish - excellent is all I can say!

Thanks for these compliments everyone- it’s given me the courage to go forward with this-and practise it in my work more- I agree that seeing good strong brushstrokes in a painting does give it life and energy, and perhaps this is more important than accurate colour?? Will find out!

A challenging exercise at the plein air group yesterday as we were encouraged to paint a very bleak view on a bland grey day using intuitive marks instead of using considered marks.. Leaving brushstrokes along after placing rather than correcting or changing… Not sure I like the result particularly ( or the process!!) but it was interesting…..
