No - but the theme is clear enough, and I expect I'm being fairly stupid.......... Trouble is, I've got All Quiet on the Western Front in my head, and it's crowding everything else out.

How about 'Birdsong'? Nice image, Christine.

I agree. I think it's Birdsong. Very nice it is too.

Lovely port rail of the subject, wouldn't no where to beging.

i think Julie has got the title rght , lovely painting

very clever idea, and i like this painting very much, but i have no idea about the title of the book you are portraying.........the words in the background are french and from what i can make out it says 'for the day of' but the words get cut off. Probably nothing to do with it :-p but i like the painting :-)

Julie, Sue and Glennis you were right of course! Robert you obviously had the WW1 connection worked out. Rebecca the music doesn't have a direct connection to the title but I liked the patterns it made. The background is collage with an acrylic ink wash and the birds, soldier and cross are painted in Golden acrylic paint. I have posted the complete canvas so you can see how it looks. Thank you for your response.

Brilliant painting, great idea Christine.

Thank you Carole, we are all really enjoying this project and I hope to get of photograph of all the canvases 'in situ' next month!

A very intriguing piece, Christine, beautifully painted.
