Nice story Wib and a lovely painting to go with it.

Thank you, David.

Great idea to help stimulate the creative juices Wib and an excellent painting to boot.

Nice painting Wib , I love walking I've just done a good Long 3 hour countryside walk but I don't think k I'd be happy with bears on the loose . I do love them though , great work Wib.

Another brilliant painting and story Wib, now you should write the book!!

Thank you, Barry. I like hiking as well, Dennis, but I agree I'd be a bit leery knowing there are grizzlies around. I'm not sure I could pull off the book, Margaret - although it might be fun trying!

Fabulous textures and brush marks Wib, the purples against the orange/yellows are such a gorgeous combination. I like the story line, that’s my kind of read.

Thanks, Fiona. I love as well all kinds of mysteries. I have a number of favourite authors that I try to follow.

Have you read John Connolly’s Charlie Parker books? Gripping!

Thank you very much, Helen. Fiona, I haven't read the Charlie Parker books - I'll definitely look them up. I like reading authors like Charles Todd, Susanna Gregory, William Kent Kreuger, Peter Tremanyne, Peter James, Steve Hamilton, etc. I try to keep up with about 30 authors or so - although I do get behind. Thanks for the pointer to the Parker series.

Very beautiful painting, Wib, fitting good with the story.

Thank you, Cesare and Dennis.

Wib, I like the sound of some of the authors you have listed, especially Charles Todd and Peter Tremayne. Thank you for those. Charlie Parker novels have a supernatural thread running through them but certainly not in a whimsical way, but almost believable.

Great painting, and would love the book if you do write it. Love mysteries, especially those set in interesting places, and the plot sounds great.

Fiona, I think you'd like many of these authors. Thank you very much, Sandra.

Interesting storyline! lovely painting full of life and movement.

Thank you, Linda.

Thanks very much, Maureen.

Here’s another in my series on mystery novel covers. This one I call Grizzly Ground. The plot synopsis may go something like this: Lorne McHardy, on a hunting trip lasting several days, was found dead by a search party near the bottom of a series of cascading falls. Initially, the police report indicated a bear attack. Ten years later two hunters in the same area uncovered a gruesome secret that strongly indicated Lorne McHardy died as a result of murder.
