The Stone Wall
I find stonewalls fascinating – especially old ones built a century or more ago. There’s something in their permanence, their ability to withstand the ravages of weather and their battle against the encroachments of modernity. Stonewalls are rare in my part of the country but whenever I see one I think of the builder and the original intention of what was being kept in or kept out.
