Rigging

I've always loved ships and models since I was a kid. And tried to built a few airfix ships...always it was the rigging that made or marred them. I know you've done much more than that, and this sketch shows that knowledge.

Well I love to see well constructed rigging!, mine is sort of made-up and haphazard! Great stuff Jim.

Nice one Jim, you can’t beat a good boat picture with all it ropes and cables.

Thanks all for the comments. Sailing ship rigging is mainly three types: Stays (the really heavy stuff that supports the masts and keeps them in place), Shrouds (the climbing supports that give access to all the sails via rat-lines (the rope ladder bits), and the Running Rigging, pretty much all the rest that keep everything in place aboard ship. Although I've never been a sailor, from model making I do know it's a science in itself and almost sacred to sailors. I got advice and help from enthusiasts all over the world.
