Don’t know what it was like before you changed it Val-Irene but I think it is incredibly beautiful now. Love that patch of light in the sky and the reflection and your very textural approach.

It’s a superb painting, as the artist only you will know that it’s lost something, reminds e very much of a Turners palette for his sunset etc .

I can also see Turner in this painting, really good Val.

I think it is really beautiful, especially the lovely glowing light.

Always a problem, isn't it? You think that one little touch, or even major touch, will be what you need to make the picture work: and frustratingly, sometimes it is - but often, it does more harm than good. One lives and learns - and your painting does work, so don't reproach yourself. Use it as an excuse to paint another version, or even several other versions, and call it a series - one you intended to produce in the first place!

I agree with Carole - sometimes we are are own harshest judge

Lovely glow of colour- I think it’s perfectly painted Val-Irene.

I always appreciate all your comments. I will start another as I feel I know that if I get the mood straight of I should stick to it. Thank you

I know the feeling! This is still beautiful though.

Whatever you did, the result still looks great to me.

It works for me! Great atmosphere.

I painted this picture with enthusiasm, looked at it next day and decided it needed more contrast but lost something as I started to change it. Should have left it alone.
