Hi Valerie, this another winner, simply brilliant. I find it extremely difficult to get detail in pastel. I wonder at your skill re this with the eyes:)

Thank you Pat. I use pastel pencils for fine detail and occasionally a spot of gouache for the eyes. I love pastel and have to make myself practice with other media. I always go back!

Your animal portraits are beautiful. This is one of my favourites. Sorry cannot help with the breed it looks like a Husky or that type of dog.

It is definitely a Husky although I am sure the eyes are normally blue? This portrait is amazingly 3D or that is how it appears on my screen. Beautifully done - the fur looks soft enough to cuddle!
