Yes agree, very cheeky poodles. Excellent painting, they have been captured perfectly :-) they look like they have a lot of personality :-)

Excellent work - I know someone who doesn't like poodles because he thinks they look "silly"; well some of the topiary effects are a bit over the top, but all the poodles I've known have been extremely intelligent, affectionate and loyal dogs, full of character and life - and yours are too, so you've got them right.

Lovely additions to your gallery but I'm leaving my comment on this one as I am in awe of how you have achieved their curly coats. Brilliant pastel work.

So many kind and very handy comments. I painted this from a series of photos which I took outside. It was a lovely sunny day and so light was good. It's very hard to paint black fur as anyone who has tried it will know.The effect is helped by using velour paper.
