This is good Martin. It’s so well painted and a worthwhile subject. Times they are a changing. An Acer tree in my garden is already shedding its leaves in mid summer, in fact the only things doing well are drought resistant Mediterranean style plants, and pot plants I keep well watered.

It’s a great record of the scene as it is , art is not always about the prettiest things . You have managed all the different green foliage really well, not easy to do in a subject like this .

Excellent painting, the colours reflect the meaning.

I really like all that foliage and so many of our ponds have dried up too.

This has its own beauty Martin. You have portrayed the arid landscape spectacularly. The foreground is especially superb.

Really well reflected Martin.

Well captured, I like your pen & wash technique

A snapshot in time, well captured Martin.

Without reading your description first I find this a very attractive painting Martin, especially the way you’ve painted the foliage. Interesting to record the changing world. I think our gardens will look very different in the future.

That's so atmospheric, Martin. I can sympathise! It looks so like Gozo all summer!

Thanks all for your words which are much appreciated. You can’t miss the evidence of climate change everywhere can you?

A victim of this year’s drought on Hatfield Moors. Some of the shallow lakes have dried up completely as I try to show here. It’s not beautiful but since I paint here in all seasons I thought it worth recording. Sketched en plein air with Fude pen and ink with watercolour added in studio. On Saunders hp 16x12”
