I love the twisting convolutions of this oak tree that spreads its branches like protective arms over the small St Catherine’s Lily Pond near Doncaster. I keep looking for the turtle that I used to see at this pond but sadly he seems to have gone. Sketched the outlines en plein air in walnut ink and added carbon ink and watercolour in studio.
