Fallent trees at the riverside

Amazing amount of detail Anthony, quite a pointillist approach to the foliage. The water reflections are excellent. What size is this?

Hi David, thanks for your query. The image is approx. 50cm x 42 cm. The pointillist effect was achieve, working from dark to light using a small, round flat ended decorators brush and some judicious 'splattering' and 'flicking'. For the water I used a large brush, working quickly, using mainly olive green and yellow ochre with a touch of light blue and a few white highlights

I love the richness of your colour palette and the great use of greens and reflections

Beautifully painted.

Super colour and you have that light filtering through perfectly Anthony.

Lovely painting Anthony, great composition.

An excellent composition; very effective painting of the water reflections.

Nice work Anthony.

Beautiful painting- wonderful light effect and reflections!

Fallen trees on the banks of that same stream again. This is the latest of a little series from along the banks of a little river about 30mins walk from home. Summer, just, and the bright sun is filtering down through the fresh greens on newly unfurled leaf bus. The fallen tree opposite creating a rich environment for numerous small creatures. I acrylic, on watercolour paper with several coats of gesso.
