Biography

I was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and studied at the University of Toronto in engineering. I have lived in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Canada for the past thirty-five years. Self taught in painting starting with watercolours in 1976 then adding acrylic, soft pastel, mixed media and recently oils. In 2006 I was juried as an elected member of two national professional artist societies - the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC) and the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA). In 2009 I won 4th place out of 5000 entries in the international magazine Pastel Journal’s annual art competition in the abstract category. Consequently, the book “Abstract Painting A Celebration of Contemporary Art” contains a chapter presenting some of my abstract work. In January 2025 I completed a Master's Degree (MA) from the University of Chichester in Songwriting and Music Production. For my thesis I wrote ambient music tracks to express the subject and mood from four of my paintings. These can be heard on my website.
